Tokyo Wedding Photographer for Couples Traveling to Japan

Getting married in Tokyo should feel like the trip of a lifetime, not a logistics project in a second language. I'm Lester Miyashiro, a WPPI Double Master and ICON finalist, and with my English–Japanese team at ILUMINI Photography I photograph weddings for couples who fly in from around the world. You tell us what you imagine. We plan it, coordinate it and translate it. On the day, you just show up.

Why couples choose ILUMINI for their Tokyo wedding

  • One bilingual team, start to finish. We plan with you in English and work with Tokyo venues, shrines, stylists and vendors in Japanese. Nothing gets lost in translation, and you never have to make a call you can't understand.
  • We handle everything. Kimono and styling, assistants, timeline and location planning are coordinated by us. Our "just show up" approach means your job is to be present with each other.
  • Award-recognized craft. WPPI Double Master is awarded through international print competition judged by industry peers. For you, that means images composed, lit and finished to a standard you'll want printed large, not just posted once.
  • Clear USD pricing. Our packages are published in US dollars on our Packages & Prices page, so you can budget before you write to us. No exchange-rate guessing and no surprises.
  • Reachable from home. We have both a Japan phone and a USA phone, so planning is easy whichever side of the Pacific you're on.

Who this is for

  • Destination couples holding a ceremony, elopement or vow renewal in Tokyo.
  • International and bicultural couples who want families on both sides to feel comfortable, with a photographer who can speak to everyone.
  • Couples marrying at a shrine, hotel or chapel who want an English-speaking photographer who understands Japanese wedding customs and etiquette.
  • Couples on a tight schedule who need a team that turns a short trip into a calm, well-planned day.

If you're dreaming of portraits before the wedding instead, see our Tokyo Engagement & Pre-Wedding Photographer page.

  7. Professionally edited, high-resolution images delivered in an online gallery for sharing and printing.

Exact coverage hours, team size and add-ons vary by package. Pricing ranges from $420 for portrait sessions to $4,200+ for our signature pre-wedding experience, with wedding coverage detailed on our Packages & Prices page.

Tokyo wedding photo locations

Based in Hamamatsucho, Minato, we photograph throughout Tokyo and can advise on settings that suit your style and schedule:

  • Shrines and temple grounds — traditional ceremonies and timeless kimono portraits.
  • Gardens — seasonal color, from spring cherry blossoms to autumn leaves.
  • Classic and modern city views — skyline, Tokyo Tower area, waterfront and evening lights near our Minato base.
  • Historic neighborhoods — lantern-lit lanes and old Tokyo atmosphere.
  • Hotels and wedding venues — we work in Japanese with venue staff on timing and photo rules.

Some locations have rules or require permission for professional photography. We'll tell you what's realistic and plan around it, so there are no surprises on the day. Want to marry or take portraits outside Tokyo? Ask us about travel within Japan.
